Two Times Four Integrative Levels of Analysis: A Framework
نویسندگان
چکیده
Walsham (2000) urged Information Systems researchers to truly cover all levels of analysis from the individual to the societal in their research agenda. In this paper, we accept his challenge by proposing a research framework of four integrative levels of analysis: individual, group/activity, organizational, and societal. Each level is divided into two viewpoints: intra (single case) and inter (multiple cases, relational, comparative). In addition, the temporal/historical dimension should be applied on all levels and viewpoints. We argue that although all of the levels and viewpoints of the 2 x 4 + history framework cannot be thoroughly covered in any single study, researchers should always identify their specific research scope and context on all four levels, allowing other researchers to assess the peculiarity or wider applicability of the study. All of the levels and viewpoints are relevant to practical IS development in certain situations. Part Number: Title 2

This study aimed at proposing a framework based on Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST) for addressing foreign language listening anxiety (FLLA) among Iranian learners of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). The effectiveness of the framework in reducing the levels of FLLA among language learners was investigated when implemented by a therapist as well as by learners independently. To this end, 3...
متن کاملTowards constructing an Integrative, Multi-Level Model for Cognition: The Function of Semantic Networks
Integrated approaches try to connect different constructs in different theories and reinterpret them using a common conceptual framework. In this research, using the concept of processing levels, an integrated, three-level model of the cognitive systems has been proposed and evaluated. Processing levels are divided into three categories of Feature-Oriented, Semantic and Conceptual Level based o...
